Getting Started
How do I create a project?
- Open the app and tap the “+” button
- Enter your project name
- Choose a color (optional)
- Tap Create
How do I create a task?
- Open a project
- Tap the “+” button to add a new task
- Enter task details:
- Title (required)
- Priority (Low, Medium, High, Critical)
- Number of Pomodoros (how many 25-minute focus sessions)
- Break durations (short and long break times)
- Tags, subtasks, notes, and due dates (optional)
- Tap Save
How do I start the timer?
- Select a task from your project list
- Tap the play/timer button
- The timer will start with a 25-minute focus session (default)
- The app will automatically transition to break time after you complete a focus session
Timer & Pomodoro Features
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that breaks work into:
- Focus Sessions (typically 25 minutes of focused work)
- Short Breaks (typically 5 minutes of rest)
- Long Breaks (typically 15 minutes after every 4 pomodoros)
Can I customize timer durations?
Yes! When creating or editing a task, you can set:
- Focus session length (default: 25 minutes)
- Short break duration (default: 5 minutes)
- Long break duration (default: 15 minutes)
- Number of pomodoros per task
What happens when a timer completes?
- Play a notification sound
- Show a completion notification
- Automatically start the next phase (break or next focus session)
- Track your completed pomodoros
Can I pause or skip a session?
Yes! During a timer session, you can:
- Pause: Temporarily stop the timer and resume later
- Skip: Skip the current phase and move to the next one
- Stop: End the timer session completely
Notifications & Reminders
Why aren’t I getting timer notifications?
- Check that notifications are enabled in iOS/Android settings:
- iPhone: Settings > Focus Pomodoro > Notifications > Allow Notifications
- Android: Settings > Apps > Focus Pomodoro > Notifications > All notifications
- Open the app and check Settings > Notifications
- Make sure Do Not Disturb is not active
How do I turn on due date reminders?
- Create or edit a task
- Set a due date
- The app will send you a reminder notification on that date
Can I get notifications in the background?
Yes! The app supports background notifications for:
- Timer countdowns and completion
- Due date reminders
Settings
How do I change the theme (Dark/Light mode)?
- Open the app menu
- Go to Settings
- Select Theme: Light, Dark, or System Default
How do I enable or disable sound effects?
- Open Settings
- Toggle Sound Effects on or off
- This controls timer start, pause, completion, and tick sounds
Can I disable notifications?
Yes! Go to iPhone/Android Settings and toggle notification options on or off.
Troubleshooting
The timer doesn’t work properly
- Restart the app
- Check your device’s battery saver mode
- Ensure the app has permission to run in the background
- Update to the latest version
My progress is lost when I close the app
- Your tasks and sessions are automatically saved
- Progress should persist after closing the app
- Restart the device if data seems missing
Notifications stopped working
- Check device notification settings
- Verify notifications are enabled in app Settings
- Restart your device
- Reinstall the app (last resort)
The timer seems inaccurate
- Verify device date and time
- Close battery-draining apps
- Battery saver mode may reduce accuracy
Can I use the app offline?
Yes! Focus Pomodoro works completely offline. All data is stored locally.
Data & Privacy
Is my data safe?
Yes. All tasks, projects, and settings are stored locally on your device. No data is uploaded to servers. Cloud backup solution is coming soon.
Can I back up my data?
- iPhone: Enable iCloud Backup
- Android: Enable Google Play Backup
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Your data will be deleted from your device. Please back up before uninstalling.
Does the app collect usage data?
Only minimal analytics are collected to improve the app. No personal data is shared.
